WELCOME TO THE OSR SO WEB PORTAL!

Created in 2002, the South Western Regional Space Observatory (OSR SO: Observatoire Spatial Régional Sud-Ouest) is dedicated to document and increase knowledge of the impact of climate and man on the behavior of continental surfaces in the South West of France, relying on an integrated approach combining long-term in situ observations, experimental observations, remote sensing and modeling.

The OSR SO is managed by the Center for Spatial Studies of the BIOsphere (CESBIO: Centre d’Etudes Spatiales de la BIOsphère). In 2007, the OSR SO became a National Observation Service (SNO: Service National d’Observation), a label granted by the National Institute for Earth Sciences and Astronomy (INSU: Institut National des Sciences de l’Univers). The OSR SO is supported by the Midi-Pyrénées Observatory (OMP: Observatoire Midi-Pyrénées, which is the regional Observatory of Earth Sciences and Astronomy (=OSU: Observatoires des Sciences de l’Univers)).

The OSR SO is integrated in the ZA PYGAR, the OHM Pyrénées Haut-Vicdessos, the IR OZCAR, the TGIR ICOS, and the international networks FLUXNET and JECAM and contribute to several CES THEIA.
